RAUMICUTE

Privacy Policy

Effective: October 15, 2026 · App: RAUMICUTE · Package: com.mindstartium.raumicute

1. Overview

RAUMICUTE (the "App") is a number-tile game for 2–4 players connected over the same Wi-Fi, a hotspot, or the internet. The App has no sign-up or login, and the developer runs no server that receives or stores your information. The App contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools and no in-app purchases.

2. Information stored only on your device

  • The name (nickname) you use in games
  • The app display language
  • Whether you have seen the how-to-play guide

This information stays on your device and is never sent to the developer. It is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data in device settings.

3. Permissions and how they are used

PermissionWhenPurpose and handling
Camera (CAMERA)When you open the invite QR scannerReads the host’s invite QR. Camera frames are used on the device only to find the QR code and are never stored or sent. The camera turns off when you close the scanner.
Internet, network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)When you create or join a roomExchanges game data with other phones on the same Wi-Fi and connects to relays for remote play.
Wi-Fi state, multicast (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE)When the home screen looks for nearby rooms, or when you open a roomFinds and announces rooms on the local network (mDNS).
Keep screen on (WAKE_LOCK)During a gameKeeps the screen from turning off mid-game.

Without the camera you can still join with "From photo" (reading the QR from one photo you pick in the system photo picker) or by typing the invite code. The picked photo is only read on the device for a QR code and is never stored or sent; the App does not use any permission to access your whole photo library. You can turn permissions off at any time in Settings > Apps > RAUMICUTE > Permissions.

4. Information shared with other players during a game

To play, your nickname and game state (number of tiles in your rack, tiles on the table, whose turn it is, etc.) are sent to the other players’ devices in the same room. This information never reaches the developer and is not kept after the room closes.

  • Same Wi-Fi or hotspot: the host’s device and players’ devices exchange data directly within the local network. Devices on the same network can see the room name (the host’s nickname).
  • Internet play: data passes through public MQTT relays (broker.emqx.io, broker.hivemq.com, test.mosquitto.org). The content is encrypted with a key derived from the invite code, so relay operators cannot read it. The relays can see connection information such as IP addresses, which they handle under their own policies.
  • Pass & play and vs computer: no information leaves the device.

We recommend using a nickname rather than your real name.

5. Sharing invites

When you tap "Send invite code" or "Send QR image", the invite text or QR image is passed to the app you choose (such as a messenger). This is sharing you start yourself, and the receiving app’s policies apply.

6. Third-party component (Google ML Kit)

QR recognition uses Google ML Kit barcode scanning. Recognition runs on your device and camera frames or photos are not sent to Google. ML Kit may, however, collect the following information and send it to Google for diagnostics and usage analytics.

InformationPurpose
Device information (manufacturer, model, OS version), app package name and versionDiagnostics, usage analytics
Device or per-installation identifiersDiagnostics, usage analytics
Performance metrics (such as latency), feature configuration, error codesDiagnostics, usage analytics

This information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and Google states that it does not transfer it to third parties. See the ML Kit data disclosure (https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Disclosure to third parties and international transfer

The developer does not sell or provide your personal information to third parties. Information collected by ML Kit (section 6) is processed by Google LLC (United States) under Google’s policies. The remote-play relays in section 4 may be located outside your country, but the game content they carry is encrypted.

9. Retention and deletion

No personal information is stored on developer servers. Your nickname and settings on the device are removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data in device settings.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the update on this page and revise the effective date.
