BeatLit Privacy Policy

Effective: October 10, 2026 · App: BeatLit · Package: com.mindstartium.beatlit

1. Overview

BeatLit (the “app”) shows your phone screen as an LED fan sign at concerts and events. The app has no sign-up or login, and the developer (Byeoltieum) does not run any server that collects or stores users’ personal information.

2. Information stored only on your device

  • Banners you create (text, effects, backgrounds), app settings (language, skin, quality and brightness options), and purchase / pass status

This information stays on your device and is not sent to the developer. It is removed when you uninstall the app.

3. Permissions and what they are used for

These permissions are requested only when you use the related feature. If you decline, the rest of the app keeps working.

PermissionWhenPurpose and handling
CameraReceive by QRReads a QR code to import a banner or crew information. Video is not saved or sent.
MicrophoneWhen you turn on “React to sound” in playComputes the bass energy of nearby music on the device to time effects. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent, and listening stops as soon as you turn the switch off.
Bluetooth (nearby devices)Crew modePhones in the same crew exchange scene-change signals. The signals carry no personally identifying information and are not used to infer location.
Location (Android 11 and below)Crew modeOlder Android versions require this permission for Bluetooth scanning. The app does not read or store your location.

For shake and tilt reactions the app reads the device motion sensors in real time; this data is not stored or sent.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows Google AdMob ads to free users (a home-screen banner, an interstitial right after saving, and rewarded ads you choose). There are no ads in play, share or crew screens, and the ad SDK is not started for BeatLit PLUS users. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect the following and send it to Google.

InformationPurpose
Advertising ID, app set IDAd delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention
Approximate location inferred from IP addressRegion-appropriate ads, fraud prevention
App interactions such as ad impressions and clicks, crash and performance dataAd measurement, analytics

On first launch the app checks ad consent with Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP), where you can choose whether to allow personalised ads. See how Google uses partner app data (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Google > Ads to turn off personalised ads.

5. In-app purchases (Google Play)

BeatLit PLUS (lifetime) and the 24-hour pass are processed through Google Play Billing. Google handles payment details and the developer does not receive them. The app keeps only the purchase status provided by Google Play on your device.

6. Sharing banners

When you share a banner by QR code or link, the banner’s content is contained in the QR or link itself and goes directly to the person you choose. It does not pass through a developer server, and the developer does not keep what you share.

7. QR scanning component

QR scanning uses the Google ML Kit barcode scanning component, and scanning is processed on the device. ML Kit may send usage metrics (such as device information and performance) to Google to improve quality. See the Google ML Kit data disclosure (https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure).

8. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Third parties and international transfer

The developer does not sell or provide users’ personal information to third parties. Information collected by the ad SDK in section 4 and ML Kit in section 7 is processed by Google LLC (United States) under Google’s policies.

10. Retention and deletion

No personal information is stored on developer servers. Banners and settings on your device are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. You can manage ad data under Settings > Google > Ads.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the update on this page and revise the effective date.
